How would would i find out what motherboard and memory would go in my dell inspiron 530. Would it be worth it. Trying to get back to factory. beging
 
what happened to your current motherboard? It may be cheaper in the long run to find a motherboard to use your RAM in, and a cheap case and just putting it back together that way. Assuming it is a Core 2 system, G41/G31 motherboards cost $50 or less IIRC.

and desktop DDR2-800 up to 4GB is your memory.
 
Inspiron 530s are Core 2, my friend has one with a Core 2 Duo.

Try using CPU-Z to find out what the board is, or open up the case and have a look at what is written on the board itself.
