Hello all,
I've 3 PCs, one has win 2003 server and the other 2 has win xp sp2 running on it,
what do I need to make a network with Active directory (on 2003),
what settings do I need to include with 2003 /and over the network
THanks

I suggest getting a book or an elearning video on 2003 server and AD. What you are asking is a broad question. There are many ways to set up users in AD, and on top of that more than one way to run it. I can only assume you are doing this to learn how it works because setting up AD domain with only 2 client computers is well, super over kill.

As for setting everything up, since its windows it is all done in the GUI.

That is quite a broad question to ask without stating how far you've looked into this and what you've tried already - or are you "just" getting started?

If you're just getting started I'd start with the plethora of tutorials online: http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_install_active_directory_on_windows_2003.htm
Unless you found a good elearning course as suggested above.

Or try Microsofts website. They've spent years piling up documentation - check the webcasts section further down the page - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/directory/activedirectory/default.mspx

You could probably cover this kind of material though the MCSE cert if you're that serious which I'm sure can be done via Elearning.

Ignore stephensmia, network magic is trash ... and it has nothing to do with what you are doing.

You really should do a little reserch, if we try to help you may get it working a little, but you will be back here asking why desktops take 5 mins to login and other questions.

I will be happy to help you if you set it up, and have a directed question .. but what you ask is a whole list of questions.
