desk top cd/dvd drive

I need help please. I have a desktop pc that has a slim slot for the cd/dvd drive . I am wanting to fit a cd/dvd reader and writer in. What I need to know is do I need a laptop one, also which one can you reccomend as don't know much about laptops.

I take it that by slim slot you mean an auto load drive, like car cd players?
Maybe you have a sony??

If so, then you need a regular drive. To tell you the truth I never seen or heard of any desktop computer that uses anything but the standard size.

No. It is the same as in a laptop but in a small office desktop.

I have a IBM NetVista it is an old office pc. 733mhz pentium3. Running windows xp.

last I checked IBM used regular equipment. Sorry, I have no idea how you have what you have...
