Hi, i have this weird desktop background issue on my new vista laptop. Any background I apply is offset by quite a bit, though this doesn't happen with dreamscene, which is odd. Here's a screen.

here

Even when i choose the different background orientation options, i still have the issue. How can i fix this?

Didn't see the rest of your post, but there should be an option to stretch it or center it, either of those should give you the most 'normal' appearance. However, you could always trying finding a larger image online.

no no no, you don't understand, the background image is the correct size, the problem is the computer thinks the center of the screen is somewhere offset from the top left. Cause you can see the repated part of the image on the left, actually matches up as a continuation with the right, not a repetition.

And i know there are options to stretch and center it, but even when i center it, the image appears as shown in my screen, just the weird top and left strips of cut off image appear blank. understand my problem?

Hmm, that's very odd. I am not terribly experienced with Vista, so I'll have to let someone else take this one.

Your last part isn't completely clear to me. What happens when you stretch it?
