Hi fellow computer users,
I use a laptop. After some problems probably related to virusses my desktop turned to a mere background picture. That is the original shortcuts are gone. I can now only start some programs using the control alt delete trick. Then browse etc. Anyone got any idea of how I can restore the shortcuts.

do you mean that everything on you desktop has gone including my computer, ie, my docs etc...

What operating system are you using?
 
Sounds like a desktop hijack going on. I know of 2 prominant ones right now, is your desktop black or red background, or something else?
