Since everyone is looking for a system these days, I decided to start a desktop building contest. Most people want budget machines from$1000-1200 US and/or Canadian. This will benefit people that keep on creating multiple threads.

However, feel free to build eXtreme performance machines that are $1200+

well try to get computers of all ranges. it will be much easier to list builds of different budgets to satisfy people's needs
 
Haha, well, I was just playing around with the idea of having an Athlon 64 FX processor... Most of the computer isn't too great, but I managed to fit in a decent machine for under $1200. Power supply might be a little too weak, though...

Why not ;) I didn't actually check the C2D EE, but I assume the Athlon FX would be cheaper...
