Desktop Computer Problem

I recently bought a Philips CD/DVD Burner8931 and I am having trouble with trying to burn a CD. I try to burn it but it says that there is not a blank cd. This is an internal burner. My computer is a Dell Dimension in the 600's and has Microsoft XP Running on it. Also, it is not reading any disks I have put in it. I have not yet tried a DVD. Do I need to install software or a driver. I did not get one with my purchase.
 
Has your burner been recognised by windows yet? Try inserting an audio disc or something and see if it plays music first. if that works.. then it should be able to burn as well.
 
Yes, Windows does recognize it. I inserted a game to see if it worked and it did not. I'm not sure what to do...because I cannot find a driver for download on the internet for it.
