Desktop Gadgets and Time display

I placed a desktop gadget (clock) on my desktop and my taskbar quit displaying the time. Now that I've removed the clock from the desktop, my taskbar will not display the time again. I've rebooted and went in to reset the time to see if that would work to no avail. Also, I heard from Microsoft that the desktop gadget feature is a severe security threat and has been discontinued in newer models. How do I remove the application from my pc?

The following may help. Click on the "Show hidden icons" up arrow in the notification area of the taskbar and the click "Customize" and then click "Turn system icons on or off" and there is an option to turn the clock display on or off.

Just don't use the gadget feature.

If you want,I can make you a small gadget which will display you the time and date and you can position it anywhere you want on your screen.
And of course you can make it to run on Windows startup.
It will not be slowing down your PC and it will work like charm.
Of course it might take me few days to make it...
