Desktop Help Plz!!

For some reason after i switch on my computer, and it will loads normally for a few seconds and before going to the screen mode my monitor went completely blank(dark screen) and it goes to power mode. Anyone know what's going on? Can it be the video card? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
 
First off some info on the machine would be helpful. Make/Model/Age/OS/etc... Recent problem, existing problem, past problems? It could be a few things. I'd first see exactly what the computer is doing. See if it still functions in Windows. If it's still working, you should be able to hear the startup sound, see some HD activity, and even do a "soft off" (press the power button and it shut down correctly). The keyboard should also work, so pressing things like Caps Lock should light up the lights.

You could also try pressing F8 during the boot process and enter VGA Mode. From there you should be able to reset the resolution and all to what you know your monitor can handle.

It's two year old customize computer with microsoft window xp pro os. Everything else seems to work fine, except it goes to power saving mode for no reason. when it goes to power saving mode i dont hear any startup sound.
 
go to control panel > then power options > make sure you have it set to power schemes alway's on and turn off monitor to never. then click apply. o.k hope this helps !!! ;)

The problem is the computer goes into power saving mode before it loads to window. Whenever i switch on the comp and just after a few seconds the monitor goes blank and goes into power saving mode. I cant really do anything after that.
 
right there is a few things i would like to suggest to you to try.

turn your computer off and unplug all leads etc, clean all dust out of computer, reseat the memory, the bios memory and the graphics card to see if that helps!! leave us know how you get on :)

also i reckon it could be a graphics card issue, so i would either update your graphics card driver, or roll back your driver and see if that helps.

Could be something changed your monitor settings. Tap the "f8" key when booting into windows. From the choices given, select "vga mode". If it boots, go to video properties. Check settings, advanced, monitor, and change your monitor settings to maybe 60 or so.
