I really want something better than halogens or single color fans and such for this build I will be doing surely. I see alien ware has their destops do every color in the book and I want that for my own rig lol! So I found this RGB led strip and I was wondering if it would work, and if it would why is it not more popular, nothing like this is on newegg or tiger direct?

I am looking to have this inside my haf x, so I can do all kinds of cool stufx. USB controlled would be awesome!

well for the price there is a newer antec series, look at the hcp-1200, gold certified with partial modularity for 280, but reall all you need for that system is something like the hcp-850, 2 gtx 580's on an overclocked system max out at 720w total pull, so even if the 7970 is more power hungry than the 6970 and all, the 6970 is a good bit less hungry than the 580 i believe, but that's up to you. and why air cooling on that beast of a system, if you're spending 75 on cooling grab an antec kuhler or a corsair liquid cooler.

I was going for a 1000w PSU but I couldnt find any brands with goldplus that I liked, CM had one but reviews were ok. Corsair good :) And I figured hey, its good to know Ill never be held back by power consumption lol! I will look into antect thank you.

Air cooling because one, the current d14 competes with the corsair h100 or right under, at least according to the reviews I read, but the d14 is substantially quiter. two, I dont want to risk damaging everything with water. three, a custom water cooled system is way expensive. four, they dont decrease teperatures by THAT much, I mean yeah but not enough to justify their price. And finally, because refrigerant systems are not readily availible, now THAT would be cool lol!

What do you think of my nooby reasoning :) oh, and I dont want to fill up the stupid thing every 6 months, I just want to leave it alone under my desk and be able to rely on it.

And you like my beastly system? 8) hey, maybe all those hours researching the best/somewhat affordable parts is really working.

gonna get this thing going soon as those parts come out, Z77mobo and ib 3700k schedueled for febuary ish release. *crossing fingers*

wait, this thread is about lighting, sorry I digress, where were we?

aha!
