Desktop Power Supply

I intend buying a new high-end desktop in the U.S, which I want to take with me to a country where I have a year of assignment ( which incidentally)operates on 220 voltage. I would like to use the desktop here in the U.S until I am posted out to the other country.

I believe that the new desktops have a lever on the back of the CPU tower which can be switched between 110 v and 220 volts. If this is so, what I have to do in the other country is to just get a pin adaptor to suit the plug and thus there is no need to have any step-up transformer.

As regard the Monitor is concerned, I am not sure where there is such a provision to alternate between 110 v and 220 volts.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Walmart/target/Sam's/Costco/about any store like that sells the converter, or you could just look for a new power cable in general.

And the only thing you have to worry about is that you actually remember to flip the switch :P

1. The power supply will have that 110/220v switch, so no problem there. Just get the adaptor somewhere.
2. The monitor will probably NOT be switchable between 110 or 220v. I've never seen any monitor sold here in the States that's switchable.
