Hey!
I have this wierd problem with my desktop: there are 2 IDE slots on the mobo, I can only attach the HDD to one of these 3, the other two make it restart during OS load and other wierd things. The 1 slot that does take the HDD has to have the hdd connected to it by itself- if I have a DVD and HDD on it, the PC will run really slow or not boot (or other wierd things, depending on the setup of the DVD and HDD and how the slave/master pins are set, but defo does not work with HDD master and DVD slave). Also, I need to take out the Master/Slave/Cable jumper pin from the HDD, if I leave it in as Master it maked my pc run really slow. Basicly, I need to reinstall windows, but I cant do it until iv got the DVD drive linked up. Iv also tried a different cable so its not faulty.
