Desktop Scrolling Question

Hi all,

Lately I am having a problem with scrolling down on some of my regular sites that I go to every day. Some are worse than others. The problem is that when I drag the scroll bar some websites go crazy. They turn black in large parts and some articles also start cascading. It makes the site impossible to read and it's very frustrating. BUT, when I just click on the downward facing scroll arrrow to move down the page it works fine like id should.

I am using an HP All-In-One desktop with Windows 11 and Google Chrome as my browser, and this situation has been happening for only a few months now!

So does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening, and how I might be able to fix it? I am at my desktop Monday thru Friday from 11AM to 3PM Pacific Standard Time, and any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not always but most of the time, scrolling issues on websites is usually signs of a display driver problem. At least it was back in the day but I haven't seen this issue in a very long time. If you go into device manager and expand display adapters and right click on the onboard video graphics and click on propertes and then go to the driver tab, what is the driver date? You can post a screenshot if you wish that way we can see if there is a new driver version available for that hardware.

Hi johnb35!
Thanks for your reply! First, If you celebrate it, then I hope you have nice Memorial Day weekend!

OK on what you said. I will look into what you said to do today, and reply if I can. Otherwise, it will be Tuesday or later for me to get back to you here since Monday is a US holiday.

OK I don't know where to find my exact processor number so I am now downloading the first link of two that were offered in your link above. The second one said page not found. What now?

Now that it'as all downloaded it appears that it is for gaming. I don't play any games on this desktop except for a rare game of chess or backgammon. So what now?

OK here you go:

I also downloaded that link you sent me. Now what?
Unfortunately it looks like I am out of time. As I said before, Monday is a holiday so I probably won't reply again until Tuesday. Thanks for all of your help, have a good weekend, and I will talk to you again then.

Hi johnb35,

How was your wekend? Hope it was good! :)

Just so I am sure, when you say to follow up on that link you sent me, are you saying to go to a site (say CNN.com) and see if I am still having trouble with it? I am also downloading that other link as we speak.

Hi johnb35!

I believe I have been able to sucessfully download all the links that you have sent me in this thread. AND, it appears at the moment that CNN.com (at least) was not going crazy as I had described in my original post! I will be back if any of my sites start acting up again, but for right now I think you fixed my problem once again!

THANK YOU john!
