Desktopini

Quite often when I have been using my new Lenovo Yoga Windows 8.1 laptop, it often puts a file on there called Desktopini.

Im not sure what it is, I tend to delete it but it often comes back.

Can I stop it from happening.

Don't view hidden and system files unless you need to. It's a required system file, and will keep reappearing if you delete it. It contains data of how that folder is organized and customized.

You say do not delete it, will it multiply into lots of them or just stay as one ?

And as Wrxguy1 has said, you need to go into folder options and choose to don't show hidden files and folders. Once you do that, it will no longer appear on the desktop.
