Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the bottom part of the log (should be a list of files) and paste it here.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

You got msconfig showing in the log, please enable all programs at startup, then reboot and post a new Hijackthis log. :)

Hi, first indeed u have spyware on your computer, saw it in your log, its called kazaa and im not joking. To fund their business the developers started including spyware with kazaa. All can be removed except one creepy guy living in the kazaa.exe file. At least thats how it were before, anyway i recommend you dowload either kazaalite (a spywarefree version of kazaa) or limewire, however lets get to the point.

Running anti malware programs wont do the trick here mate. ;) Norton (as i see you have) or any other anti virus program is your friend now, like eg AVG Antivirus.

If you follow these five steps you should be able to remove it. Run as Admin. I know you have done some of it before but do this sequence as a whole.

1. First if your using any new version of windows you have the system restore function set on default, you might have used it. It surely wont do the trick either, in fact disable it. But a warning, if you do you will loose all your restore points, but as long as you dont plan on restoring you system it shouldnt matter. The reason i ask you this is quite logic, system restore stores files on your system. You rightclick my computer, go to those menus in the top, choose system restore, check the box and apply.

2. Next update your virus definitions on nav2005. Or on another program.

3. Restart your computer in safe mode.

4. Now you run a full system scan with Norton. Make sure Norton scans ALL files. Write down the path and file names of every infected file (this is important). If the need to remove files manually arises, knowing their paths and name kinda help. And let Norton finish its job.Optionally if you do not believe Norton is up for it, repeat the process using another virusprogram. You might think "hey man ive done this scanning okay" but still do these steps.

5. Now its the grand final or nightmare, whatever you like to call it. Have you ever been in the registry? You will need to manually remove traces after dowloader.trojan. Warning! You should backup your registry before editing it! One wrong move and you might render your system totally useless in a second. Alot of the changes in the registry take effect immediately and theres no regret button! :D After that is said, cool down, back it up and youll be fine. For that go here.

Now run regedit. Under my computer you will see five folders. Navigate to these locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

For each one, in the right pane, delete any values that refer to any files that were detected as Downloader.Trojan. You wrote this down earlier. And exit.

Restart in normal mode and the problem should be fixed. :)
