"USB Device Not Recognized" message kept prompted when I tried to connect a common USB Twin Gamepad to the rear and front USB ports.Device Manager shows every neccessary details for the standard gameport correctly after Enabled the option of Onboard Game/MIDI of my ASUS P5GPL-X mobo , but the Windows still failed to detect the gamepad. The USB ports works fine with other USB Device & ironically the gamepad also works with other computer!Did anyone of you guys undergoes this before? I did notice about these option under the Onboard Game/MIDI (200/300 ,200/330, 208/300, 208/330) ,is there any relevant ?

Go to the site of the manufacturer of the game pad and download the drivers. Also, the device may be USB 2.0, and the computer you're using may only have USB 1.1... don't know if that could cause this type of error, but I think it's a possibility... is it an older computer? I don't think 2.0 was widely supported until around 2002.

There is an extremely small outside chance that there would be a USB version conflict causing this problem, but it's much more likely that you just need the drivers for it.

I think there is nothing concern about USB 1.1/2.0, my mobo support both version & i also enabled the USB 2.0 controller in CMOS within High Speed .I had discovered this recently, the "enable option" of the Standard Game Port in the Device Manager was missing. The " Device usage " option was highlighted which suppposed to be an enabled status state with it.I tried to reinstall the DirectX but still cannot overcome it, Why?
