Desperately Looking For Feedback On A Few Laptops.

My Toshiba is all but dead and I really need a new one. Would like to spend b/w $900 - $1300.

Anyone know of some sites that rate, review and show buyer ratings for lots of different laptops? That'd help a lot!!

Love to have Core Two Duo with 2Gb of RAM. Probably will need to buy in person at store. Would prefer XP to Vista, but that doesn't look realistic. My main concern is the machine and the brand...get the right one.

If I needed to get one with 1Gb RAM I could add more later.

Don't do any gaming, mostly some photoshopping, graphics, website stuff, email and general internet as well as downloading of music and streaming tv and music videos.

Not looking for the best, but I am looking for a VERY good reputable brand.

People keep telling me HP is very reliable, would you all agree? I'd like to be open to one more brand, what would you suggest? In other words, if I couldn't get an HP, is a Dell kind of the second best selection considering my needs?

All I care about is that the machine works..that's it.

Here are a few I found and would LOVE to get some feedback on these.

Thank you in advance for your assistance, this isn't my area of expertise. ANY AND ALL HELP IS HUGELY APPRECIATED...I'M A NEWB WHEN IT COMES TO THIS STUFF.

HP Pavillion dv6365us

HP Pavillion dv2317us

HP Pavillion dv6365us - THIS ONE LOOKS GREAT

Also, what does the se, nr, us mean after the model number on these HP's?

Anyone else know of a laptop that is very well rated that would fit my needs?

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dell is pretty decent and come a long way in laptops. They can be an option too.

There are also Sony, IBM(Lenovo), Toshiba is also good- but after that, I'm not sure if you have them in mind.

Acer have some cheap C2D laptops.

Your first and third link seems to link to the same laptop. The second link has Vista Business, which may make that more of a business laptop. So the first and third would probably be a better choice.

Almost any option will wirk for you, but like the previous poster said, consider lenovo dell and acer as other brands worth looking into

Dell has a good customizable laptop, E1505, i think u can configure for a very decent price. On the topic of HP, i know someone who buys nothing but HP computers, simply because they are very reliable and long- lasting. I would definitely go for the dv6000t for your needs. If not, Dell is a solid bet.
