desperately seeking software

Is there a method or software available to edit text in jpeg/bmp/tiff formats and be able to save it in the original format.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
 
Text is just like anything else in the image once it's saved. It's not on a different layer or anything, so no, there's no way to just edit it out. Not without basically going in there and redrawing the picture.
 
If you are really good! Photoshop will do.:)

However, if you want you can lemme see the picture and i might be able to take it out. As long as it isn't copyright watermark or anything.
