DFI LanParty 790FX Dark- No video?

So I am building my friend a gaming PC and for some reason the video is not showing up. I thought it was the motherboard, so RMI'ed it to newegg, but now this motherboard is showing the same problems. The lights come on (Standby Power LED and DRAM Power LED) as well as the fans, but I get nothing from the display. The green light on the front of his case powers on as well.

As a side note, I cannot power off his motherboard by holding down the power button (though I can power it on by it), and I also cannot power down the motherboard by the buttons on it (there is a power and reset button on the motherboard itself).

Here are his computer specs:

DFI LanParty DK 790FX Dark motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 Processor @ 2.4 Ghz
2 GB DDR2 800 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS
Western Digital 320 GB SATA Drive
BFG Tech 650Watt PSU
LG LightScribe SuperMulti CD (and DVD) R/RW drive
No OS installed (since no power up)

This is baffling me and hope someone here can help ;).

Ok I just tried different RAM and CPU (both from a good working computer) and they worked fine.

I also tried his RAM/CPU in mine, and it worked fine.
 
try booting up with 1 stick of ram and just the cpu, does that board have onboard video? if it does plug it into that, if it does boot, go into the bios, i know if i put a card in, i have to change it from onboard over to the slot i'm using

Tried with 1 stick, nothing. Also there is no onboard video =/
 
Try a diffrent power supply if you can.
Since you ruled out the cpu, ram, video, and motherboard (possible).
 
Not sure on the particular motherboard, but try slots 1+3 instead of 0+2 if thats what you are using. Also, the power supply could be too weak like pies said. You have remembered to hook the power connector to the video card if there is one right?

Yup I did.

I actually figured out the problem and wanted to let you all know.. his power supply was was actually bad.. so he now has a nice Thermaltake power supply and his computer is up and running.
