Did a clean reformat, issues worse than ever!

Hey guys, some of you may recall my problem but here's a quick rundown of why I reformatted:

I could run all programs without a problem EXCEPT games... anytime I tried to run a game I would get a blue screen that would detail about one of the following files:

NDIS.sys
Win32k.sys

So I thought I might have screwed up the drivers or I might have a virus and just decided to do a full reformat to start with a clean slate. Well not only are the problems not gone, they're worse! Here's what happens:

When it gets to the Windows XP Pro loading screen everything seems fine... then right when it's done loading when it tries to load the desktop it pauses for a second or so and then restarts. Sometimes I can see some random colored blocks on the screen before it restarts.

So obviously since a full reformatt didn't get rid of it it must be a hardware problem right? I'm leaning towards the video card being the problem, but could this be a hard drive problem? Or a motherboard problem even? I cleaned off the video card and did everything I could, the fan is working fine and I can load the comp in safe mode. All plugs are securely plugged in.

My specs are:

OS: Windows XP Pro
Processor: 3.04 ghz pentium 4
Ram: 1 GB of RD 1066 ram
HD: IDE 140 GB Hard drive
Video card: Radeon 9700 pro
Sound card: Sound Blaster Audigy

Someone please help me thanks!

it could be in order of likelyness (i'm sure someone will argue with this lol)
Memory - you memory could be crapping out, consider swapping the memory
Motherboard - Trya nother if possible
Processor - A problem on my system manifested itself as a memory problem, it took a while to figure that out.
Power supply - you could be experiencing spikes or dips in the voltages supplied by your PSU.

now these are only the things that i think could be causing this and in my opinion this is the order i conser their likelyness. its gonna take a little time and effort but you shouldn't have a problem finding the issue

By memory do you mean ram?

Why do you think the video card isn't likely to be the problem?

hi

this could be due to several things try replacing your graphic card driver and it can also happen if you are using norton antivirus if you are try uninstalling it

Do you have a ADSL modem plugged in the USB or is your internet connection coming from a freebox?
Also, i read little bit around and your pb seems to be frequent. One seemed to tell it was because two periphericals were on the same IDE channel (Ex: your HD and your CD-ROM were both primary master)
And what is your mobo?

Hey guys, I fixed my prob! It turns out it was a driver problem with my video card... get this:

I bought a new video card from circuit city to test to see if it was the video card... after installing the drivers from that different video card, my old one works fine again!

It all makes sense now, because when I tried to start my comp in safe mode it would always freeze on the file:

agp440.sys

and my video card(radeon 9700 pro) is an agp card!

Thanks a bunch for your help guys!
