The first time I installed firefox worked perfectly. Then, It got some problems around JavaScript. But now it became unbearable!
1. Whenever I open some page, 2 errors appears in Error Console:
Code:
Error: searchshield[aEng[i] + "SearchEngine"] is undefined
Source File: chrome://searchshield/content/overlay.js
Line: 1561
2. There are 1000s of Warnings in error console.
3. It has "redirect" virus. Sometimes when I enter some link, it shows me a completely different one (like toystore and other...)
4. Many times (but not always), when I click some button (like post thread for example), It opens me a new window with google or yahoo on its page.
5. Google wont work properly. First, when I click enter, it doesnt search. I have to click it with mouse. Then, when it searches, the firefox shows "neverending" loading (loading circle on google tab). And last, whenever I open Google, I get a bunch of errors in error console.

I cant work like this! Plus, I cant take any other browser
Opera - Doesnt shows images nicely
IE - Doesnt support Canvas Element (and it has some kind of toolbar virus)
Chrome, Safari - Dont work

I tried to reinstall it with many versions (5.6.1, 6.1...) but it fixes problems only for a moment. After a day or two, it starts again.

How to fix these problems forever?
OS: Windows XP
Computer: Compaq Mini 110c-1100

Do you have a lot of add-ons installed? Some of them may not be compatible with certain sites. I remember having Firebug as an add-on and every time I used Gmail, everything would just slow down and get glitchy.

LOOOOOOOOOL reinstalling and installing newer Firefox versions will simply NOT fix this problem.I use ultra old IE6 and also use Firefox 5 and every page works great. So the problem is NOT in the software you are reinstalling like crazy lol.It is in your OS.Your OS is infected by bunch of small viruses and they WILL and ALWAYS WILL cause the EXACT problems you have.

Run a FULL scan of your entire HDD with a very good antivirus software such as McAfee Enterprise 8.5.0 and delete all the malicious software that has been found and then reinstall Firefox and if neccessary repair your OS.

This is what happens when you surf the internet without the good virus protection being ON.Hell I do not even open ANY internet browsing program before turning ALL my protections ON lol.People say I overreact and that I am too careful when the protection comes in question, but screw what they say lol.I haven't reinstalled my XP OS since 2004. lol and they did it about 1000 times since then :P

I had this identical problem on a new Windows 7 machine (that someone else had set up for me). It went away immediately after I used Firefox's Add-on Manager to disable the Extension for AVG SafeSearch 11.0.0.something. Then I downloaded AVG's Free Antivirus 2012, which installed itself and replaced the older version. So far this does not produce the endless stream of error messages.

Hope this helps.
