Did I do it right?

So I bought 2 500gb hard drives and set them up as RAID 0 in the BIOS and installed Windows. It says there's 900gb available, I thought that in RAID 0 it should see both of the drives as one so as one 500gb drive. Did I do it right? How can I tell?

What you set up is raid 0 meaning you will see one drive at 931.5gb.

Raid 1 - you will see 1 drive at 500 gb. Raid 1 is mirroring so whatever is on drive 1 will be on drive 2. If one drive fails, you still have a good drive to boot up to.

Raid 0 - you will see the total size of both drives added together providing you use the same size drive but you will have no fault tolerance. If one drive fails, you will lose all your data.

Which raid are you actually wanting to set up?

I see, I meant to set up RAID 0, it is a lot faster then just one drive I just thought I would only see 500gb so I guess that's a bonus.
