I got a GT 2 days after xmas and went home and put it in exactly the same way I put my friends in not but about 7 days before and mine did not work in games and only scored about 3.0 on the vista scale (i know its not a very good scale but its the easiest way for me to tell if its working right). I have a 1000watt psu and I also got a new pci cooler fan for xmas and I plugged that along with my 2 huge case fans and I was wondering if i overloaded the psu and did it fry my first GT?

My RMA should be here on the 29th:D

its possible... but I've heard that Nvidia drivers are fussy on vista. you should check it out, im not sure where to get them (I dont have an nvidia so I never looked into it further) but that's whats in maximum PC mag. there's a fix, just not sure where to get it :)

Like that guy said, make sure the PCIe cable is connected. I'd also run CPUID and make sure your PCIe slot that it's in is running at the full 16X.

I'm not sure what PSU he has, but I know it's decent [has enough Amps on the 12V rail(s) and is good quality], so that's not the problem. My 8800GT worked fine with his computer, so my guess is that the videocard was messed up. IT showed artifacts in atitool, and wasn't overclocked.
