Did I waste my $$$? HELP!

It doesnt need to be turned on when everything is connected up (motherboard) just plug in the mains cable and it wil power up.

you paid $2 for it whats the worst that can go wrong? u could drop it on ur toe and if ur from usa u will have to pay for bandaging and all that stuff...
here in aus medical is free :D

Well first of all, THERES NO POWER SWITCH... I pluged it all in and no do . And I can't drop it on my toe cause I already did and it hurts...

It's 145W which is not nearly enough. Buy a new PSU. $40 will get you a 500W unit.

thats what im thinking.
Hmm if he sold that for $2 maybe i can get $8 out of a 250w unit that come on a windows me machine

you might just have to buy one for like $30 off newegg or buy.com?

it'll probably power my hp server, running a celeron d with a hdd and some ram and two burners lol and even so the computer came with a 250w lol

It could power an extremely old computer, but not one of the newer ones.

And you dont need a switch, it uses the motherboard to tell it when to turn on and off.

Yea old AT P/S did not have a switch on the back, when you shut the computer down a AT P/S would shut down completely. A ATX still lets a little bit of power run through the board so you needed the switch on the back to power it off all the way or just unplug it.

Its an AT motherboard. I need a psu with a switch. the origional psu is a 250w power man AT psu... this one used aswitch, this one I ordered doesnt have one... =( darn

When you say switch are you talking about the group of wires from the AT P/S that goes to the Power switch on the case. The black square is the power switch

Those are the ATX type. The AT type use a Power supply switch to turn it on/off.
