Did my Flash disk Boot?

I forgot to remove my flask disk on the USB when i turn on my PC it did not boot my WinXP, but when i remove my flash disk and restart it boot normally

If you have a BIOS that supports booting from USB (not uncommon now) then it probably looked there and said something along the lines of "Invalid / Non system disk error, replace and press any key to continue"

or if no message appears the system is waiting for you to remove the flash disk before it will boot. Same thing on external HDD's.
