Did Someone Just Hack My PC?

Hi,

First let me just say thanks for this forum. I'm just a homemaker, part-time researcher in benign subject. I don't surf porn, keep a clean machine, have no enemies that I'm aware of and in general keep my life as simple as possible.

I am however living in a rather volatile political country in the Middle East. Ex-Pat if you're interested.

OK - so here's the thing - my PC was on (XP SE3) all of sudden went into sleep mode, I tried to re-awaken it and it shut down. I went into event viewer for the time this occurred and this is what it said:

*Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with address xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. The IP being used is YYYYYYYYYYY.
Then right above that there is an ERROR - it says: The following boot-start or system start failed to load
SASDIFSV
SASKUTIL

I have Automatic Updated checked to NO.

I went into Processes and I saw something with au...something - when I tried to see it in another Process Viewer - it appeared for a few seconds then it vanished.

What am I dealing with? I have no spyware - I check it frequently - nothing is loading at start up except for Avast. Have only the most critical services loaded in boot/start.

Am I being paranoid or is Big Brother doing something to my machine?

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Those files are related to Superantispyware. Uninstall the program and see what happens.

It's not on my machine. Hasn't been for a while.

Now what? Should I just delete them wherever they are?

It's very strange - I haven't had this program on in such a long time - why would it all of a sudden divert to asking for them at bootup?
