Didn't know where to put this, but the usb isn't working!

So my mp3 player charges throught the usb port and i guess i let it run completely run out of batteries, because now it isnt turning on or charging or anything, It registers as a drive in my computer but i cant edit my playlist because nothing shows up. I obught it used so maybe that is why they sold it, but i dont know why it wont work, and the RCA website doesnt have any trouble shooting sections for this model anymore. Please help me if you can!! thanks.
 
It still isnt turning on and it has been plugged in for about three days, do you have any other advice or should i try to see if i can get a refund since it is faulty. thx.
 
It is an RCA Lyra Jukebox 40 GB. And i am using Windows 2000. It worked before and I charged it before and it worked. The thing is we had a charger that plugs into the wall and we returned it when the lady sent us the usb cord. This leads me to believe that it cant charge through the USB port even though i could have swore i charged it that way before. Anyways, i think that is the problem. So thx.
