difference between skydrive and email attachment

Is there a big diffrence between uploading information on Skydrive and just sending an email attachment to someone directly?

Emails have a file size limit. Skydrive you can upload whatever size file you want.
 
With SkyDrive I believe you have a 25GB allowance. With emails, that's more like 25MB per email.
