Difference between Windows XP 32/64 bit, or should I go Vista?

Is there a noticeable difference between 32 and 64 bit XP? Driver wise does it all work out? I only ask because if I can save twenty bucks on an OS my computer can use 64 bit...
Or should I just get Vista? I've heard alot of bad about it, but, I've only used a demo at a store for a few minutes, it looks pretty, but, so does all the crap Microsoft puts out...

As far as using Vista goes, I would still wait! Still somewhat unstable! Go with XP! Don't know whether to use 64 or 32 bit! Suppose the 64 bit one will be faster! Also depends on what you're going to use your machine for!

64 bit XP is backwards compatible! Will run software that only uses 32 bit! You have to take into account that your software has to be designed to use 64 bit processors!
