Difference in HP 2X, 5X, and 9X carts...

We recently got a all in one printer for my mom so she could make quick color copies of stuff at school. No computer is connected to it, it's all done by the printer. It's exactly what I have(HP PSC 1350) but a few models newer. I think next was the 14x0, and hers is something like a 9x0... Either way, the printer looks the same, but it uses different carts.

Now, my printer carts lasted well over a year before I had to replace them. Hers barely last a week! Does anyone else know of a problem with these carts or this printer series? Even if she uses it more than I have mine, I know it should last longer than a week!

I believe that you mother has the 1410 printer all-in-one... That should use the 21 and 22 cartridges, with about a 150 and 180 page yield (at 5% coverage) respectively. Yours should be the 56 and 57 cartridges with a 450 and 600 page yield (ballpark) respectively. Basically your mother is using her printer a bit more, and those cartridges are horrible. Or, she's printing photos off which would definitely run through those in a week, maybe 20 to 25 photos, if you're lucky... :( Let me check on HP's website for the exact cartridge page yields for the cartridges...

*EDIT* Ok, a few adjustments..., the 21 = 150pgs, the 22 = 140pgs, the 56 = 450, and the 57 = 400.

No, she's got the step above the 14x0 series. I just found it on HP

Or one of those models...

We did have a 1410 for her, but dad found this newer model for slightly cheaper, so he exchanged it.

The thing is, her's doesn't use 2x or the 5x carts as I suspected. That's why I'm asking this. I know the 5x carts do well because I use them. What bugs me is that hers have no lifespan when compared to mine!
