different mobo in Dell case

Yes and no. Older Dell's used special "hooks" on their motherboards rather than screws. Newer ones use BTX(a fairly new standard), but I THINK a common screw layout. Though there could also be a problem with the front pannel. Some don't follow the jumper standards most ATX boards do for the power switch, lights, and such.
