Different OS systems?

Defyantly

Hey guys im currently using windows 7 and have been reading and really would love to hear your guys' input on the different OS systems that are out there i.e. Windows 7, Mac OS, Linux, Vista, Ubuntu...
tell us what your using and what you like about it and what you dislike about it.

I am starting this thread just so new guys like me could learn a little bit about what else is out there other than xp, vista, win 7.:D

In order of use.
1. Windows 2000 Pro.
- I like the look and feel, and it runs practically everything I need, and personally I think it is better than XP, with only 2 excpetions. Netflix and google chrome.
2. Crunchbang
- Light OS, like the look and the secure feeling. I am still learning it, but I think it is going to stick around for a while on my laptops. It will not connect to the schools network though, either through Ethernet or 802.11b/g/n, so I can not use it at school.
3. Ubuntu 10.04.2
- It is still linux, thus still secure. It will connect to the school's network both ethernet and 802.11g, so I use it just for school.
4. windows XP.
- Some of my programs will not work in 2000 for whatever reason, and the Gamefly downloader will not install there. Some of the things I use will run on it though. Netflix and chrome for example. I only use it when I want to play a game that is not 2k compliant, or watch a streamed movie.

I have used 7 and Vista, as well as some other Linuxes before. I think that 7 and vista are ok if you like that kind of thing, But I know XP and 2k inside and out, so I use them. And some of the Linuxes I liked, and some I didn't. The only thing that really matters there is the WM and the base version (debian, redhat, BSD, or ubuntu)

Ubuntu,
I have been using Ubuntu for about three years now and I use it cause I need something to replace Vista and unlike most of the guys on here I cannot use old out dated OS's especially XP cause I hated XP. Ubuntu is a lot differet today then when I first started using it. Easy to use today even though I do not have to I will still use terminal over the GUI just cause in some cases that is how I learned it. There is a GUI for just about everything so easy to use, A great app support and with some of the games that have come out and are schedule to come out for Linux I say will in the next five years Ubuntu will be a pretty nice platform.

Overall a good OS.
