Dimension 8400 help

I just bought a Dimension 8400 off of ebay and it didn't include a hard drive. So I went out and bought a WD 320gb SATA. It also came without the Documentaitions but i had another Dim 8400 so I tried to install windows xp with the CD that came with that one. It didnt work. Can anyone help? it said the was no hard drive but i wnet into the BIOs and it said there was.
HELP!!:confused:
 
Something like this happened to me before. All I had to do to fix it was unhook everything but the hard drive, start the computer, and then shock the system. The computer took like an hour to boot after that but once it did I just shut it down, re-attached everything, and it worked just fine.
