what is it? how do i check my direct X version? How do you get DX 10.1?

What operating system are you on? windows xp is limited to DX9.0c while Vista and 7 have DX11 which is supported on ati's 5xxx series cards. ati's, 3k and 4k series cards use DX10.1 which helps with anti-aliasing i believe.

Press start / run / dxdiag.exe and that will tell you.

You should already have DX 10.1 if you keep upto date on Windows Update, if not, just run Windows Update, and the relavant direct X version will install. But you must be running a DX10/11 compatible card. (Radeon HD and above / GeForce 8 series and above).
