DirectX 9.0b!!! Old video Card!!

ok before i had DirectX 9.0b I had 8.1 and all my games worked, I have a geforce2 MX 4.12.01.0650 and i cant find any driver updates for this card, so is there a way i can go back to DirectX 8.1?

All i get in my games is a black Screen but my pointer is still showing, everything else locks-up, the cd-rom drive will not even open, nor the alt-tab, alt-F4 or the ctrl-alt-delete, nothing. all i can do is move my mouse.

Why not? You can download a driver for it at Nvidia's website. Going back to 8.1 should not make any diff. from how it's performing with 9.0b or whatever you've got installed right now.

This is prob. because you've not updated your drivers. What driver version are you using anyhow?

go here http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/drivers.html and download a driver that is up too date and with a bit of luck you should be OK.

Edit:

Oh yea sorry . It really helps when you give more info such as os and hardware etc. The only real way to go back with Direct X would be to reinstal your operating system which should be a previous version of direct X and then of course dont update .
