Directx nightmare !!!

Hi all

I have a problem with Oblivion - it would run even tho my rig is well capable.. it keeps stalling on single frames. I updated everytinhg - drivers, patches etc but to no avail then discovered a fault with call of duty 2 which reported this error

Direct3DDevice9:resent failedriver internal error

What on earth does that mean? Has my Direct X broken? If so how do I uninstall it? Or is it my card? It's only 2 months old X1800XT...

Any help would be great

i suggest you re-install DirectX from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

Failing that, if the probnlem still persists send your card back.
