directx problems

as it says above i am having problems with directx. i am using xp as an os but i must have installed it off a game somehow because xp is saying i have directx 10????

is there any way of unistalling direct i highly doubt it but is there???
o and i have tried installing directx 9 to overright 10 it doesnt overright it.

Leave it as it is.....with xp when you update DX to the latest it will say you have DX10 but you dont realy because you cant run DX10 on Xp.

but leave it as it is...you will still be able to play DX9 games fine thats just how it updates.
 
ok but the thing is one of my games (far cry 2) has stopped working after this happened. what it does is you double click the icon to run the game then the far cry screen flashes breifly then nothing happens atall the game doesnt load. i have tried reinstalling the game on both my hardrives deleting everything far cry related befvore the reinstall and this problem still persists which says to me it is something that is on my computer the only thing i can think of is that directx 10 has mucked it up somehow??
 
that didnt work either it just said the newest version of directx has been found so it didnt install anything. i really dont understand what is stopping this game working then have you anyother ideas??

have you patched the game with the latest patches?

Other than that i dont know what to say,probably best contacting Ubisoft and see what they have to say.
