disable wii u gamepad?

simple question, can you disable the wii u gamepad and just store it in the cupboard for good

As far as I know the game pad that comes with the WiiU is MEANT to be the first player controller for many, if not almost all, Wii U games.

So no, you cannot.

Exactly. Certain FPS games allow you to use the Pro Controller I believe, but that's pretty much it except for the few that only need a wiimote which I believe one is Super Mario Bros. U.
