Disallow access to an IP-Address

Hey,

I would like to disallow access to a certain IP-address.
I don't want to be able to access a certain IP-Address in any browser.

Is there any software that can block IP-Address for me?
My router dosn't have the function to block IP-addresses..

What firewall do you have? Many firewalls have an option to block IPs (even the Windows built-in one has one if I remember correctly?)

Look at a browser called Secure IE Pro.
its not free though.

You're trying to block a website right? If you are, then:

1. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC if on xp and vista
2. On your toolbar on top, go to: tools/folderoptions/view and make sure 'show hidden files' is allowed.
3. Forget it. Just go here to learn how to block sites:

Windows Firewall dosn't have this option.

With the hosts file you can't block IP-Address
for example the following line does not work in hosts file:
127.0.0.1 116.145.31.11

the following line does work in host file:
127.0.0.1 www.blockme.com

Need to block an IP-Address, not a domain

Im not using Secure ie anymore. but it does have a lot of features i like.
Like script controls. Turn on at one site and off at another. I just hate buying this stuff every year. worth looking at though.
im using firefox and thinking maybe a lot of these features are and may be available as pluggins.

Found a way to do it through policy's with Windows XP SP2
It's insanely difficult for such an operation!!!
