Disconnected wire

So I was going through my computer and I found a wire on the inside that is disconnectedd. A friend built this computer for me it is an asrock z97 can someone please tell me what it goes to. Attached I have a picture of it

Most likely it is a USB or front panel audio header.

It's a temperature probe. Does your case have a temperature display on it? That's what it is for. The sensor normally goes on the CPU under the heatsink.

Yes it does have a temperature display. Where exactly would it go? Is there a slot for it?
