Disguise IP

I am going to be hosting a Team Fortress 2 Server, but I don't want people to know what my households IP address is (to be secure, stop attacks to the ports, etc). (If this is against forum rules, I will delete it)

Can I use something like DDNS to create a URL address that directs people to the server on steam without actually showing my IP address? If so, how do I do it? It also needs to be for ports 20705, 20715 (if I remember correctly). How would I tackle this? My router does support DDNS if it is the answer.

To keep your ip secret, you would need a proxy between your server and the clients, but even that will not prevent anyone to attack the ports used.

ahh ok. Is it safe to keep two ports open when the server is off? My router asks for the IP of the machine using the ports anyway, so it can only access THAT machine right (it is a VM)

It's safe - no open ports are unsafe unless you have something listening on them.
