Disk boot failure, enter system disk and press enter

I used to have three hard drives. Two 120 Satas, not in an array, but separate, and a 160 IDE, at one point in time I would get that error you see in the topic name, and simply putting in my windows cd and restarting would fix my problem, although I would have to choose between my non-existing former windows home, and the current installation of windows pro. One of the 120s just kind of.. died, and it had my windows on it, so I reinstalled, and everything worked fine, no longer had to have my windows cd in, but was still selecting between a non-existing windows, now the old windows pro, and my current windows pro. Now, I have purchased a 300gig IDE, and everything works just fine except for the fact that I now get the error again, and cannot boot from the CD at all to try to fix anything. Help, anyone?

So, part two of my story, sometimes my remaining 120 sata, will stop showing up in windows, only to be restored with a restart, after reading some other things here, I unplugged my sata, and the rest works fine. Oh deary me what is wrong with my drive?

EDIT: /cry Finally got it to boot from the disk, no thanks to you. Humph, but my old partitions were lost. /cry

EDIT2: /cry harder Got the partition which I intended to install windows on, and when it finished it went through the restarting process, however now I get my error again. /wah
