I'm moving all my computing to macs and havent used my windows PC in about a week. When I boot my computer today I see the following message.

Finding Operating System ...
Boot from CD/DVD :
Disk Boot failure, insert sytem disk and press enter.

I currently do not have the windows 7 64bit disk is there anyway I could download it from microsoft and burn it ti a DVD?

The last time I used my windows PC it was to migrate windows to VMWare on my macbook pro, the migration was unsuccessful Could this be related?

Now I'm planning on selling my windows PC. Should I just install windows 7 directly in VMware and go from there?

I currently have two 2tb drives in this computer. My C: has about 100gb used and the second dive is empty. However it seems that my computer only boots if both drives are connected. Any ideas?

Most likely the boot files are on the other drive and thats why it won't boot up.

Originally that's what I thought but my computer only boots when both drives are connected. I'm thinking there's something wrong with the OS install any suggestions?

Reinstall with only the drive attached that will have Windows on it, disconnect the second drive. It's the only way.

That sucks. I've lost my windows install disk. is there any way I could download it from microsoft and use my key free of charge?

I believe it is OEM, I got it thru school. my high school had an agreement with Microsoft.

You will need to find someone that has the same type you had, borrow their cd(make a copy of it) and use your own key.

I am currently looking for my CD I guess there's no way I can download windows 7 from microsoft.

Thanks I'm downloading it right now.

I'm in the process of moving everything to my mac. Should I just install windows directly in VMWare on my mac rather then reinstalling windows on my pc?
