Disk Boot Failure

Hi there everyone
Looking for help when I switch my PC on I get a black screen with the message DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK THEN PRESS ENTER as I do not have a system disk I have a problem any help out there gratefully appreciated.

Have you changed any BIOS settings? Also check that you don't have a floppy disk or anything in when you boot up.
 
thanks for your reply. No I haven't changed any BIOS settings my computer has not been on for a couple of weeks now and there isn't a floppy disc in the drive. This really is confusing me.
 
It's worth checking the BIOS anyway, make sure the BIOS detects the hard drive and that it is in the boot order. If the drive isn't detected, open up the case and make sure it's still connected securely.
 
Right when you power on your PC you usually have to press one of the F# keys or delete. It depends on the motherboard manufacturer.
