disk cleaning tool

I am looking for shareware program that will erase files that were erased on my computer (if that makes sense). I am going to give my old computer to my son and I don't want personal files that were deleted to be able to be recovered. I can't reformat the disk because the windows installation disc did not come with the computer. Thanks in advance.

you have got to love th US defence compliant statement. ha ha ha. But is it MI6 compliant? eh ?

I use eraser 5.7, it goes WAY beyond DOD specs, and is freeware, here the link.

Oh, and once installed you can empty your recyclebin with it with a right click menu.
