Disk cleanup

HI I have windows 7 64bit OS. I was doing the disk clean up and I see there is a temp files that has 6.5 GB in it. This box is not checked when you go to disk clean up. Can I safely check this box to have the computer delete these files? That is alot of space....Just wondering on this....
