Disk Consistency Check ???

Now & then, I've been getting the message when starting the PC up that "one of your disk needs checking for consistency" & then it scans taking little long time.

I'm on Windows XP & has FAT32 partition.

Should the message worry me or should it simply be ignored ???
 
How are you shutting down your PC? This can also happen if the PC is shut down incorrectly. Also I'm wondering what the size of the drive is? I'd suggest using an NTFS file system even on a 20GB HD. Also you should prepare for HD failure (better safe then sorry). Although it is very possibly harmless.
