Display color stress...

Here's a brain buster (maybe?)

For a monitor (lets say a laptop screen for my sake), what is "harder" to display. An all white screen, or an all black screen? Does one burn the screen more, or require more power? Which would you say is "easier" for the display to...err...display?

I'm wanting to keep my laptop screen alive as long as possible, so if one color is harder on the screen to produce and requires more powr, I wnat to avoid having it as my background image.

I think white is hardest to produce since white is a combination of all the colors, and with black, it doesnt have to display anything.

I don't think it displays "nothing", as the screen looks different when off than it does when displaying an all black screen.
