Display driver error.

I no most of you are thinking that this should go in the video card area but according to THQ its Windows Vista. So thats why I'm posting this here. Feel free to move it if thats necessary. But when ever I launch Company Of heroes, (sometimes it will load and let me play) but most of the time it crashes and says "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" I was wondering if anybody has a fix for this. I read online that this happens to alot of Nvidia Cards in Windows Vista but I have an ATI cards (Specs in signature) and sometimes it will cause my whole computer to restart and I get this message.

sounds like a nightmare... i hate finger pointing. I guess im assuming you have the latest drivers for the video card? if not try them.. if so try older versions... start with the version off of the CD if you still have it. ATI should still have the option of downloading OLD drivers for their cards. also see if this is available in VISTA ( i dont have a vista pc to confirm this) right click COMPUTER and choose properties and then click ADVANCE and the click settings under startup and recovery... uncheck automatically reboot... this will give you a BSOD when your computer crashes and will give you soem more info maybe on what the problem is... however i think we narrowed it down to the video card.

I would start with drivers... then maybe a different card all together if thats possible.

Well thanks and I tried all different drivers they had and finally figured out the problem. Buried in the Company of Heroes forums someone posted a problem just like mine and one of the admin said that if you have a video card with more 256 ram and have the texture settings on ultra the game will crash because of a memory leak. What I don't get is why didn't they tell me that in the email they sent me? lol. Well what ever the game is working and thats all I care about. Thanks for the help though :) appreciate it!
