Display Driver

I recently downgraded my Acer Aspire 5535 from Windows Vista to Windows XP. I cant seem to get any display drivers that will work. After hours of googling and downloading drivers others said will work, some say cant open close all applications (when all are closed already) and some others say cant open due to amount of characters in the name. Can someone please help me with this. When I scroll up and and down on webpages it doesn't do it smoothly. It's almost like it is lagging. Thanks in advance

As far as I can tell Acer doesn't even provide XP drivers for the video.

What about the ATI VGA Driver on the site I linked to above? It's there for all versions of XP. Why wouldn't that work?

That link don't work. However, I went to acers support site and punched in his model number and there are no xp drivers listed for the video.

My bad. That link takes you to where you punch in the info. And there is an XP ATI VGA driver there... see:

But if you change the operating system to XP there is no video driver listed. Try it....

Ok So I tried deleting everything I had installed and let XP pick what ever after reboot still no joy when trying to install the VGA thing, I had been to the acer website and the one there didn't work thats why i tried others. This comes up when i try to install it

Huh. Well, I've never seen that error before. At any rate, you should try starting the installer in C:\Temp. If i asks you where to install files, then you should put them in C:\ATI or something... see if that works. I'm 98% positive that driver will work for you since that's the driver that is intended for your hardware. You just need to install it. Let us know.

Every 30 min or so my display driver stops working and my games that i am playing stop working! i understand that many people have this problem with the display driver "NLDDMKM" but how do i fix it? What is actually wrong? What does a display driver do? Help!!!

Download the installation to your desktop and then run it or just download it to the C drive.
